A fairy tale has a million meanings and definitions, based off of what we have learned thus far here is  my take. A fairy tale can be polygensis or monogensis, there are legends, myths, archetypes, and magic or "marchen" in German. "Initiation in the sphere of imagination" [ Luthi ] A fairy tale is a story that ignites the imagination and has hundreds of hidden messages and symbols that leaves room for creativity and interpretation.

                   Fairy tales are for children and adults and are meant to allow you to decide what is meant by each and every tale.  Fairy tales are complex, specific, and multi-dimensional. They have no set place or time and have an unsatisfying ending. Fairy tales often have motifs unlike legends, myths, and folklore. Fairytales often have isolation. For example in sleeping beauty briar is taken away from her parents and from the world, or when Cinderella is constantly being exclusive to her and determined to make her irrelevant to the prince and her family.
